Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey won double gold in 2008 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and gold the same year at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). In the production of Connemara Peated Whiskey, an old Irish tradition has been revived of drying the malted barley over an open fire with burning peat. The smoke rises through the malted barley during the drying process, giving the whiskey its distinctive taste and aroma of peat.
Connemara Peated Whiskey has an aroma of smoke, peat, heather, honey, and oak. Taste: soft, honey, malt, dried fruit, peat, and vanilla.
