The Carupano rum series hails from Venezuela, where we also find brands such as Diplomatico and Santa Teresa. Ron Carupano is a family-owned distillery that produces sweet rum in the "Spanish style." Its history dates back to 1762, when the Spanish captain, Felix del Fierro, founded the hacienda in the Carupano valley in Macarapana. Today, Ron Carupano is among the leading producers in Venezuela, and it also boasts the country's first and only female Master Blender, Carmen López de Bastidas. The barrels are sealed and are not refilled as the rum evaporates. Carupano Reserva 12 Exclusiva rum falls into the medium-sweet category and contains up to 12-year-old distillates from ex-bourbon barrels. Carupano Reserva 12 Exclusiva rum has notes of caramel, sea salt, coconut, and roasted nuts, among others. The rum can be enjoyed neat and also lends an excellent touch to cocktails. 40% ABV - 70 cl.
