Boulder Peated American Single Malt Whiskey
Not only bourbon and rye whiskey are produced in the USA. Occasionally, you can also find single malt whiskey, and Boulder Peated American Single Malt Whiskey is an excellent example of this.
Boulder Whiskey is produced at Vapor Distillery in Colorado, where the finest barley malt is smoked, fermented, and distilled. The whiskey is then aged in New American Oak barrels, stored and monitored in a federal warehouse. Boulder Spirits determined that Boulder Peated American Single Malt Whiskey tasted best at 46% ABV, which is why they chose to bottle it at that strength.
The story began in 2011, when Alastair Brogan moved from Scotland to Colorado with his 1,000-gallon Forsyth Still to seek his fortune as a whiskey/whisky producer. As a Scot, Alastair naturally had to show that smoked single malt could also be made in the USA.
