Ben Nevis 10 Year Old single malt whisky has won numerous gold medals over time and is a malt of truly high quality. Ben Nevis 10 Year Old single malt whisky has been aged in the highest quality casks, which has matured the malt in the finest way. The result is a fruity and spicy whisky, characteristic of the Highland region. Therefore, it will also be an obvious bottle to have in the collection when comparing with other types of whisky from, for example, Islay or Speyside. Ben Nevis 10 Year Old single malt whisky has aromatic notes of citrus fruit, honey, and toffee, followed by botanical notes of flowers and plants. The taste notes are spicy initially and then transition to a sweeter profile with honey and spicy, dark chocolate in the aftertaste. The renowned whisky expert Jim Murray described the whisky as follows during an on-site tasting in Fort William: "There is a wonderful balance in this malt that I will return to again and again." Ben Nevis
The Ben Nevis whisky distillery is located in the western part of the Highland region, at the foot of Great Britain's highest mountain (also called Ben Nevis), and the distillery was founded in 1825 by John MacDonald. In 1989, the Ben Nevis whisky distillery was acquired by Nikka from Japan, who also produce whisky. The very full-bodied whisky is matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak and in sherry casks made of European oak.
