Old St. Croix (formerly "A.H. Riise") Non Plus Ultra Very Rare refers both to the legend where the inscription was a warning to seafarers not to continue sailing into the unknown, and to what the expression later came to signify: the ultimate, that which simply cannot be improved. This Old St. Croix lives up to its name "Non Plus Ultra," which loosely translates to "The Best" or "Nothing beyond this."
Old St. Croix (formerly "A.H. Riise") Non Plus Ultra Very Rare has a dark mahogany-like color with a spicy bouquet and notes of molasses, oak, tobacco, and orange. On the palate, Old St. Croix Non Plus Ultra Very Rare is full-bodied, long, and fruity with notes of cedar, vanilla, caramel, sherry, and orange.

Riise to Old St. Croix. Previously, the products could be classified as rum, but as of May 25, 2021, new EU legislation came into effect, stating that rum must not contain more than 20 grams of sweetening product per liter.
