Laphroaig Quarter Cask comes from the small "quarter casks" that were often used in the 20th century to age Scotch whisky. They were transported across The Glens by workhorses. As demand grew, suppliers found it harder to keep up, and larger casks began to be used. It is known that the interaction between the casks and the spirit to be aged is very important, and the people at Laphroaig discovered that small casks provided up to 30% better contact with the wood compared to most larger casks used today. Therefore, it was decided to recreate some quarter casks and to age the whisky in them. Thus, Laphroaig Quarter Cask single malt whisky was reborn. The color is deep golden, and the aroma reveals peat and smoke with fruity notes. Laphroaig Quarter Cask single malt whisky has a deep, complex, and smoky taste with a surprising palette of mild sweetness. 48% vol. - 70 cl.
