This older bottling of Ron Millonario, named World's Best Rum in 2008 and 2009 - and called XO - is a Solera version of the rum from Peru. With an age of 15 - 20 years, it is among South America's oldest rums, and the casks are carefully selected by brand owner - Fabio Rossi. Only the very best casks become Ron Millonario XO, making it a very limited edition. Nose: Heavy orange, light tobacco, sugar sweetness, a complex scent of spices enveloped in sweetness and caramelized, tropical fruits. Taste: First sweetness, then spices that spread, and then sweetness again. Hints of nougat, rock candy, figs, and dates. Aftertaste: Pleasant sensation of sweetness, brown sugar, delicate spices, and oak in the aftertaste. Ron Millonario XO from Peru is a sweet rum, and perhaps a bit sweeter than the 15-year-old? But the spices cannot be overlooked either. The gift box is black and resembles crocodile skin in texture.
