Provenance Braeval 2011 8-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a rich, creamy, and fruity malt whisky from a distillery we don't hear from often. It possesses the remarkable quality of being light and full-bodied at the same time, enticing you to take an extra dram.
Braeval Distillery is located 355 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest distilleries in Scotland, and was built in 1972 under the name "Breas of Glenlivet Distillery". The distillery is still very young and has never had its own malting floors. They buy their malt from large malt producers and always buy unpeated malt.
If you have tasted "Chivas Regal", you have tasted whisky from this distillery, as the blend in Chivas Regal is the largest consumer of the malt whisky produced in Braeval.
The aroma of the whisky tempts with notes of toffee pudding along with milk chocolate, malty barley, and apple peel. The taste presents itself as full-bodied with sweet biscuits, caramel, macadamia nuts, and nutmeg. The finish has plenty of ginger, ripe banana, and a mild note of burnt oak.
The whisky is bottled at 46% vol. and the bottle contains 70 cl.
