It has been named "Best American Whiskey" by Food & Wine magazine and represents the culmination of over a decade of patient aging in a hand-selected, charred oak barrel.
The 10-year-old bourbon reflects the exceptional result of uncompromising craftsmanship and Kentucky's unparalleled climate for maturing excellent whiskey. Only a limited number of barrels mature with the elegance required to be included in these very limited releases – often they are also significantly older than the age statement on the label.
When a barrel of this whiskey sold for £166,000 (DKK 1.4 million) at an auction in London in 2020, it shattered the previous record of DKK 545,000 for a barrel of bourbon, which had been sold at a Christie's auction.
Michter's 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon offers big and bold notes of dark toffee and caramel, toasted oak, maple syrup, and vanilla. 47.2% - 70 cl.
