Martha's Colheita 2005 Tawny Port Wine

Martha's Colheita 2005 Tawny Port comes from a single harvest, from the 2005 vintage. It is made with the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, Tinta Amarela, and Tinta Roriz. It has been aged for at least seven years, but like many others, its taste will change over the years if left unopened.

This port wine offers an enticing aroma of dried fruits combined with sweet notes of caramel. Upon sipping, a warm taste with subtle hints of spices is experienced, where the fruits and caramel from the aroma reappear. The finish is delicious and full-bodied, leaving a lingering and pleasant sensation in the mouth.

Martha’s Wine & Spirits was established in 1727 in the Douro Valley in Portugal by the Martha family with their first vineyard. Initially, the family only produced grapes that were sold to other winemakers, but six generations ago they began their own port wine production. They handle everything from harvesting, production, bottling, and commercialization themselves. They are what one might call a field-to-bottle company.
