Dos Maderas Triple Aged 5+5 Years

The Dos Maderas house was founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams, a great admirer and connoisseur of sherry, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations. Today, the house is owned by the Medina family and has won great recognition for their sherry, brandy, rum, and sugarcane spirits.

Once the Master Blender has found the desired blend of selected rum from Barbados and Guyana, it is aged for 5 years in the Caribbean. After this part of the aging process, the blend is shipped across the Atlantic to Williams & Humbert in Spain, where the second part of the aging begins. Dos Maderas PX 5+5 year Triple Aged sugarcane spirit is now aged for 3 years in specially selected oak barrels that have previously been used to mature the internationally award-winning sherry "Dos Cartados" Oloroso. Finally, it is aged for 2 years in barrels from the heavier, fuller-bodied "Don Guido" Pedro Ximenez sherry, both certified and approved by DO-Jerez – Xéres Sherry to have an average age of 20 years.

The final stage, where this popular spirit is aged in Pedro Ximénez barrels, gives it its beautiful color, and it is bottled with a sweetness that classifies Dos Maderas PX 5+5 year Triple Aged as a sugarcane spirit. The taste is soft and delicate with notes of raisin, fig, and vanilla.

Dos Maderas Caribbean Double Aged PX 5+5 years won a gold medal at the International Rum Expert Panel 2010.
