Calvados Pierre Huet Hors d'Age 12 Years Old
Calvados Pierre Huet Hors d'Age is based on 300 different types of apple cider. The apples are pressed, and fermentation results in 6% alcohol. After this, the first distillation takes place to obtain "les petites eaux" (little waters), which have 30% alcohol. The second distillation, "bonne Chauffe" (good heat), brings the alcohol up to 70% after the first and last parts of the distillation, which are not suitable for calvados, have been removed. The now finished and clear Calvados is poured into large barrels that have contained apple cider, and it is from these large barrels that the Calvados gets its taste and apple color. Finally, the finished Calvados Pierre Huet Hors d'Age is aged in small barrels for 12 years to enhance the taste. 40% – 70cl.
