Kirk & Sweeney
Kirk and Sweeney is the name of a ship that, during Prohibition, transported (smuggled) rum from the Caribbean to the USA. The ship was seized by authorities in 1924, but the name and legend live on with this rum. The seal on the bottles has a thin brass-colored band with the latitude and longitude 40° 34' 57.62" - 73° 19' 2.14", which are the coordinates for Jones Beach, from where rum was smuggled into the USA in the 1920s. The Kirk and Sweeney rum series includes the Gran Reserva edition, a sweet rum produced in the Dominican Republic.
