Fanø Skibsrom Søhesten is distilled in Jamaica and subsequently refined on Fanø. The refinement consists of a two-stage aging process. First, Fanø Skibsrom Søhesten is aged with natural flavourings (including Fanø Heather Honey, sea buckthorn, and Madagascar vanilla). Afterwards, it is aged in port wine barrels.
The taste is round and balanced with sweet notes of vanilla, muscovado, and bitter orange. It offers a taste experience that transports you from Fanø to exotic climes – and back again.
Fanø Skibsrom Søhesten can be described as an extra sweet sugarcane spirit. The Fanø Skibsrom sugarcane spirit editions build upon the more than 300-year-old tradition of ship's rum. Rum from the Caribbean was for centuries an important part of sailors' provisions on large sailing ships, helping them withstand the harsh conditions at sea. Fanø Skibsrom sugarcane spirit is based on a sugarcane spirit distilled in Jamaica and subsequently spiced with natural, local ingredients and aged in port wine barrels on Fanø. 41.5% - 70 cl.
