Fanø Ship's Rum "Havmanden"
Fanø Skibsrom Havmanden is a medium-sweet and aromatic sugarcane spirit that taps into a 300-year-old rum tradition. For several centuries, rum was an important part of sailors' daily provisions, and to make it go down easier, the rum was mixed with local spices, sugar, and fruits before being poured into barrels and aged on board. Fanø Skibsrom Havmanden sugarcane spirit is based on rum that has been distilled in Jamaica. This is first aged with heather honey and sea buckthorn from Fanø, as well as vanilla from Madagascar and muscovado sugar. After this, Havmanden sugarcane spirit undergoes a secondary aging in port wine barrels. 41.5% - 70 cl. Fanø Skibsrom Havmanden won a silver medal at IWSC 2019.
