Plantation Extreme No. 4 Rum Long Pond 2000 ITP is a Limited Edition release in the so-called Extreme Collection. The rum has been produced at the famous Long Pond distillery in Jamaica. Made from molasses, fermented for 2 weeks, and distilled in a John Dore double retort pot still. Finallly the Plantation Extreme Rum No. 4 Long Pond 2000 ITP rum has been tropically aged for 16 years in 200 L bourbon casks and continentally aged for 4 years in 400 L Ferrand French oak casks. The nose is very lively and starts with an extremely fruity profile of flambéed pineapple, banana, juicy pear, and lime zest. It then evolves into wax, rose, camphor, and walnut. The palate is similar to the nose with deep notes of molasses followed by cooked apple with spice notes such as nutmeg, curry, vanilla, and herbal notes such as sage and lemongrass. It then becomes a little sour, very dynamic with chocolate, bitter orange, figs, sweet popcorn, and peppermint notes. Volatile compounds: 638 g/hL AA; Esters : 191 g/hL AA. 52,1% ABV - 70 cl.
