The Real McCoy Rum 12 years is produced in Barbados by Foursquare Distillery, and when Richard Seale from Foursquare is behind something, it's a guarantee of a certain quality of rum. Big McCoy was the name of arguably the most famous "rum-runner" during the Prohibition era in 1920-1933 in the USA, when alcohol was forbidden. At the same time, he was also known for smuggling in rum of good and honest quality instead of mixing the spirit with artificial and often dangerous additives, and therefore his products were also quality-stamped as "The Real McCoy".
The Real McCoy 12 year old rum is aged in casks for a minimum of 12 years, and it has notes of oak, dark chocolate, caramel, orange peel, and tobacco.
