SBS Fiji 2002 Rum

SBS Fiji 2002 is a single cask rum, based on 100% molasses and distilled in a pot still in 2002.

This rum has matured in an ex-Bourbon cask and was bottled at a strength of 57.1% in February 2021. The rum is not chill-filtered, and no additives have been used.

The rum is from South Pacific Distillery, which is known for its characteristic flavor notes, including a unique blend of fruity, smoky, and almost medicinal nuances.

The aroma offers a distinct and funky profile, often associated with Jamaican rums, and provides notes of tart tropical fruits combined with hints of wasabi and honey. On the palate, it starts soft and dry, where a slight acidity is soon complemented by ripe tropical fruits and honey, all rounded off by a slightly tingling finish.

SBS Fiji 2002 is limited to only 240 bottles. 57.1% - 70 cl.

SBS stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this series of rums is produced by the Danish rum importer, 1423 ApS, who are also behind brands such as Ron Esclavo. The SBS Rum releases are generally unsweetened (without added sugar), non-chill filtered, and at a higher alcohol strength (some of the SBS rum bottlings are even bottled at cask strength).
