SBS Guyana 2012 LBI rum (bottled for Germany & Austria)

The SBS Guyana 2012 LBI is "bottled for Germany & Austria," but we were allowed to purchase some bottles for the shop during an SBS rum tasting.

SBS stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this series of rums is made by the Danish rum importer, 1423 ApS. SBS Rum releases are unsweetened (no added sugar), non-chill filtered, and at a higher alcohol strength.

This particular SBS Guyana 2012 LBI rum is molasses-based and distilled in a column still in 2012. The rum was matured in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 59.7% abv. in September 2025. The aroma is elegant and floral with herbs, green tea, tropical fruit, and coconut. The taste is light and well-rounded with fresh herbs, citrus, green apples, vanilla, and a slightly spicy finish.

The SBS Guyana 2012 LBI rum is not chill-filtered and is limited to only 204 bottles. 59.7% - 70 cl.
