The distillery focuses maximally on environmentally green practices. All CO₂ from the fermentation process is collected in pressure vessels, which are used for soft drinks. All organic material and wastewater from the fermentation process are led to the sugarcane fields as organic fertilizer for new sugarcane, and the biomass is used as fuel to distill the alcohol. The finished rum is transported from the Dominican Republic to Europe by sailing ship – entirely without engine power. The bottles are made from remelted recycled glass and produced in Europe to reduce CO2 emissions.
