Plantation Paraguay 2018 Rhum Single Cask rum

This Paraguay 2018 rum is our very own Rombo Single Cask bottling from Planteray Rum (formerly Plantation Rum).

When we sampled various options 10 months ago, we had no doubt that the profile of this particular rum matched our own taste buds, and that this should be the 2025 edition of the Rombo Single Cask bottling from Planteray Rum. As we usually do, we have chosen a rum without added sugar, and the 49% also contributes to the complex nuances and robust intensity.

Planteray Paraguay 2018 Rombo Single Cask rum was first aged for 4 years in bourbon casks, then 14 months in Maison Ferrand cognac casks, and finally, the rum was aged for 20 months in Chardonnay wine casks. The rarely seen sequence of the 3 cask types was one of the reasons we chose this particular rum. Most importantly, however, we ourselves were very enthusiastic about its unique taste.

When you nose the Planteray Paraguay 2018 Rombo Single Cask rum, you perceive inviting and complex notes of anise, raisins, banana, orange peel, green apples, cantaloupe, and grass. The taste is round and full-bodied with notes of quince, prunes, figs, peach, cloves, and licorice, among others. The finish is long with licorice, caramel, pepper, dates, and honey.
