Old St. Croix Danish Navy The Frigate Jylland

Old St. Croix (formerly "A.H. Riise") Danish Navy The Frigate Jylland is named after the Frigate Jylland – the world's longest wooden ship, the pride of the Danish navy, a former royal yacht, and a Danish national treasure. The Frigate Jylland has close historical ties to the former Danish West Indies. Between 1871 and 1887, the ship made five voyages to the West Indies to represent Danish interests. Royal Danish Navy The Frigate Jylland is an exclusive edition of the Royal Danish Navy release.

The old apothecary methods are still used today to create this bottle, and it is developed from plants that Albert Heinrich Riise collected around the Danish West Indies at the time to make his own rum. Although the Frigate Jylland now lies permanently in Ebeltoft, one should not miss the chance to taste this bottle from an important era in Danish maritime history. For every bottle sold, a sum is donated to the preservation of the Frigate Jylland.

Nose: a dark and intense aroma of cigar boxes, caramel and chocolate with a "greener" layer on top of grass and mint. Taste: starts mild, but intensifies with pineapple, honeydew melon, banana and a lovely rich taste of milk chocolate and with a finish of orange crunch followed by a lightly spiced finish.
