Mosgaard Pedro Ximenez Single Malt Whisky
Mosgaard Organic Single Malt Whisky Pedro Ximenez cask is made from Danish, organically grown barley malt. After a long fermentation, the whisky is slowly distilled twice in a custom-built copper pot still. This produces a clean new spirit, which already has fruity notes of malt, peach and apples.
After distillation, Mosgaard Organic Whisky Pedro Ximenez cask is first aged in small, new French oak barrels and then spends an additional year to eighteen months in custom-built barrels that previously contained Pedro Ximenez sherry. The very small barrels provide more contact with the wood, and thus faster maturation. The sherry cask, together with the French oak barrel, creates a good balance between tannins and sweet sherry notes. Mosgaard Organic Whisky Pedro Ximenez cask has tasting notes of malt, coffee, leather, chocolate, citrus apples and dried fruit.
The whisky has won several awards: Double Gold Medal at the World Whisky Awards and Best Danish Single Malt Whisky 2021, BISC Gold Medal 2020, World Spirits Awards Gold 2020, IWSC Bronze Medal 2019.

Mosgaard Whisky comes from the award-winning Danish micro-distillery Mosgaard on Southern Funen, where Gitte and Jes Mosgaard produce whisky from Danish, organically grown barley malt.
