English Harbour Reserve 10 Year Old Rum

When rum production started in Antigua (around 1650), it was small, separate estates and plantations that made "homemade" rum. But rum from Antigua quickly became known for its unique and elegant, aromatic style. By the late 1800s, there were no less than 78 factories on the island producing sugar and making rum. The local rum was blended by local bar owners who created their own "blends" and brands. In 1932, a number of these partnered up and established Antigua Distillers. Today, Antigua Distillers is a 4th-generation family business, and in recent years their "English Harbour" products have become an established name in export markets around the world.

English Harbour Reserve 10 Year Old Rum is a blend of selected, matured rums. The youngest of these has aged in old bourbon barrels for at least 10 years and has the aroma and complexity of a well-aged rum. This rum is on the drier side – not unlike whiskey and bourbon. It has flavours of smoky oak, citrus fruits, burnt sugar, and vanilla and coconut with hints of coffee, baked apples, cinnamon, and tropical flowers. 40% – 70 cl.
