The Carupano rum series hails from Venezuela, a country also known for brands like Diplomatico and Santa Teresa. Ron Carupano is a family-owned distillery that produces sweet rum in the "Spanish style." Its history dates back to 1762, when the Spanish captain, Felix del Fierro, founded the hacienda in the Carupano valley of Macarapana. Today, Ron Carupano is among Venezuela's leading producers, and also boasts the country's first and only female Master Blender, Carmen López de Bastidas. The barrels are sealed and are not refilled as the rum evaporates. Carupano Reserva 21 Privada rum is on the medium-sweet side and contains distillates aged up to 21 years from ex-bourbon barrels. The rum comes in an attractive gift tube. Carupano Reserva 21 Privada rum features notes of orange, dark caramel, tobacco, buttercream, salted caramel, and vanilla. 40% ABV - 70 cl.
