Auchentoshan
The Auchentoshan whisky distillery is located on the border between the Highlands and the Lowlands but is considered a Lowland whisky (along with Bladnoch and Glenkinchie). During production, it is distilled three times, achieving an ABV of 81% after the third distillation, which is the highest among Scottish whiskies, and which results in a very smooth and light whisky flavour. Auchentoshan uses bourbon casks from the USA and Spanish sherry casks for maturation. The Auchentoshan whisky distillery dates back to the 1820s.
